Recipe testing.

Earlier this week I wrote about all the things I’m doing to *not* lose my mind in 2025, and then I went ahead and decided to do something insane, and start a business with my friend (who is also my neighbor). To make a long story short, an idea I’ve been sitting on for a while came up in casual conversation when my friend mentioned how she wished she could open a juice place in town, to which I replied “literally my dream.” Anyway, the convo spitballed from there, and between last Friday and today, we decided to launch a juice business.

Maybe it makes no sense to try and start a small business (waves arms around) in this economy. But it’s also never felt so right. And yeah, it’s juice Jess, maybe it’s not that deep, but these last two years of untangling myself from an industry and a public identity that felt so far from who I am, it’s helped me tap into a version of myself I didn’t even know existed anymore, and that’s priceless.
