So many good links and I'm too tired to think of anything else to say about it...

Happy Sunday. This week was an absolute whirlwind. We had our first Market on the Green for Green Bunny AND did our first big event at Pride on Saturday. It’s been interesting starting a small business right now because it’s a pretty scary time to be doing that, but we continue to be amazed by the outpouring of support and enthusiasm from our friends and community. I’m sure this isn’t entirely unique to Vermont, but it does feel like we have a special thing going here.

Even though I’ve technically been a small business owner since 2013 when I started my blog and quit my full time job, this feels completely different. For over a decade I was basically selling stuff for other companies. Now I have my own product, and that’s kind of terrifying. Part of what led me to quitting influencing was being so burnt out on selling things to people not only because it was stuff they didn’t need, but because other than the monetary reward, I wasn’t invested in the products. It wasn’t something I created or had any personal stake in. It was just stuff, most of which came from corporations that only wanted to use me as their mouthpiece to sell more stuff, and that gets really old, and depressing.

To create something out of pure love and passion, and bring that to people opens up a whole new sense of excitement and vulnerability. In a lot of ways, writing this newsletter has helped prepare me for all of the emotions that come with that. It’s a uniquely intimate thing to write out your hopes, fears, and dreams and share it with over 11,000 people. And it’s also a privilege. So what I’m saying is, thank you.

The only way I monetize this newsletter is with paid subscriptions. No ads, no affiliate links. Please consider upgrading your subscription to access the rest of this newsletter and all of my work. Thank you!
