Sometime last year I realized I wasn’t listening to music at all. As someone who was involved in music for most of my life (I’ve even got a musical tattoo), I was shocked. My moments were filled with more “productive” forms of noise - the news and podcasts. Even clawing back some of those moments for any kind of music has been so nourishing.

Last year I put together some thoughts on it https://atraveledtable.com/girl-put-your-records-on/

This sounds so lovely. I also can so strongly relate to filling moments with "productive" noise. And it took me a while to realize that this was so incredibly distracting and never let my brain rest. I actually started listening to classical music sometimes when I don't want complete silence but I just want to chill out. It's been surprisingly wonderful.

My cozy moment is from 8.30-9.00 after my kids go to school. I check Jessy Substack and other people I really like here. This is heaven for me. So opposite to Instagram. I don’t know Jess why I am so attracted to your writing. Maybe because you share the same thoughts as mines. Thank you!
