Welcome to A Common Thread
Hi! I’m Jess Kirby, an ex-fashion and beauty influencer sharing my take on the fashion, beauty and influencer industries, hyper-consumption, capitalism, modern motherhood, politics, and more.
At a time when many of us seek community and connection in more meaningful ways, I hope that this newsletter can serve as a place to support that.
I walked away from influencing and paid partnerships so I could independently publish this newsletter. This gives me the ability to talk freely and openly about the topics I want to cover without pressure or influence from brands and corporations. Your paid subscriptions help cover the cost of this work.

About me:
I live in Vermont with my partner, toddler, two dogs and one cat. We took a chance and moved here in 2020 after spending most of our lives in Rhode Island. Zero regrets!
In 2013 while working in HR Consulting I started a blog called Prosecco & Plaid as a way to express creativity outside of my 9-5. Eventually I turned the site (now JessAnnKirby.com) into a full time job and became known as a lifestyle influencer partnering with major brands on social media.
After suffering from severe burnout, and entering motherhood, I had an identity crisis. I knew that the way I’d been doing things for the last 10 years was no longer working for me. And now I’m setting out to find a way to explore creativity, motherhood, community, and living life (mostly) offline.
